On 25th of July 2018, General Elections in Pakistan are going to take place. Last general elections took place in May 2013 in which PML-N were the victors. Let’s wait for the results of these elections and which party will rule the country.
Pakistan Elections 2018 Current Analysis
Pakistan is abuzz with the recent imprisonment of Pakistan’s former prime minister and his daughter Mariam Nawaz. Last week, every Pakistani tuned in to find the father-daughter duo be transferred to the jail and speculation about the upcoming elections rose higher than ever. The 2018 elections that are scheduled to take place in July 25th are continuing without any delay.
Recent news from the political parties includes PML-N whose position in the upcoming elections seems shaky. It is as if the lion has been rattled, but the party continues to hope on. Shahbaz Sharif, brother of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently leading the campaign. Also, as Mariam Nawaz has declared that she will be fighting one of the corruption cases filed against her, the party still has some rays of hope.
Other than that, Shabazz Sharif still holds the most popular vote in Punjab. Moreover, the recent imprisonment and the brilliantly played politics by the Sharif family has also earned them the sympathy vote which is sure to come handy on the 25th.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also heading the Pakistan people’s party and is the youngest chairman of a big party in Pakistan. PPP also has many loyal supporters, mostly distributed around Sindh which can win them the popular vote. The different parties strive to bring different rules and regulations in the country. However, the tough fight seems to be between the big Parties namely, PML-N, PPP, PTI.
With the inclusion of new parties and combinations, the elections have taken an interesting twist. Imran khan successfully delivered his first promise of justice which has also earned. However, the ultimate decision still remains.
On the 25th of July, millions of Pakistanis will make their way to the balloting stations to vote for a new Pakistan. Every vote counts which is why political leaders are urging every person to make that extra effort to cast their vote wisely. Security has been tightened and the days slip by as the result day for Pakistan draws closer than ever.
